I wanted to post and give a shout out to Jeff Richardson a member of the Social Lubrication Family. Jeff collaborated with Hart Noecker and Tessie Ward to make Fourth of July. The film is posted on the NW film centers page right now, link below. The short documentary is slightly disturbing in my opinion and shows the mechanical necrophiliac nature of humans. Before you watch the video ask yourself why do we celebrate the 4th of July and then listen to other peoples answers.

Found out about video artist Paul Prudence yesterday. His lecture series for the node 08 conference is a very good examination of the history of sound and visualization. Paul blogs regularly www.dataisnature.com. His blog has many great art reviews and is updated regularly.

Swan Quake is an interactive installation that uses video capture to put Dancers in a gaming environment created to replicate the designers environment. The artists, Ruth Gibson and Bruno Martelli used Unreal Technology tools to create their 3d environments. The video capture used by their dancers was the same as that used in Lord of the Rings to create Gollum. For more on Swan Quake visit their page.
